Horse Riding in the Serrania de Ronda
(maximum of 5 people)

In a stunning setting, on high ground with breathtaking views to Africa and the entire coastline, we take our clients along some of the old smuggling routes used by the "bandoleros" through the stunning sierra south-west of Ronda. White hilltop villages perch amidst glorious panoramas. Lunch is included, which will either be a picnic or tapas at a local Venta.

This trip takes us into the back country of Andalucia and reveals some of the most unspoilt terrains in the area, with wonderful flora and fauna.

Experience is required due to the terrain. Our riders need to be confident on their horse and able to fully control it.

Jerez de la Frontera - Royal Equestrian School and Sherry Bodega
(Tuesdays and Thursdays)

A full day trip to the surprisingly Andalucian city of Jerez de la Frontera. Our day is split between two incredible visits and a lunch in a local restaurant. The gentle charm and elegance of its local culture will surely delight you.

The Royal Equestrian School, a stunning complex within the city limits, is devoted to nurturing and maintaining true Andalucian Horsemanship. Their acclaimed show "Dancing Andalucian Horses" never fails to delight.

Our second visit of the day takes us to a typical Sherry Bodega. Jerez is the home of sherry and we will visit one of the most established and exceptionally managed bodegas in town, which will include a little tipple of the own products.

Málaga
(Wednesdays)

Málaga; a beautiful and lively Mediterranean city with an excellent harbour.

It is the major coastal city of Andalucia and is a genuine and typical Andaluz city with a gritty individualism untouched by tourism and, to a large extent, the passage of time. The Moors occupied Malaga until the mid fifteenth Century, the city was conquered by the Reyes Catolicos (Catholic Kings) in 1487.

During the nineteenth century, Malaga was a popular winter resort for the wealthy famed for its elegance and sophistication. The impressive park La Alameda dates back to that time and is recognised as one of the most celebrated botanical collections in Europe.

The famous painter Pablo Picasso was born in the City and today his house is a popular tourist attraction.

Malaga boasts many beautiful sights; today we include a visit to the Picasso and Thyssen Art Galleries. Lunch is included in a local restaurant and we will savour a Glass of Muscatel wine in one of the most typical taverns of the city.

Smurf Village

Sony's multi-million dollar SMURFS MOVIE was always bound to be a great success. But few people could believe when the mayor of a tiny village near Ronda, in the south of Spain, was approached by SONY and asked if they could paint his entire village blue, claim it was the official Smurf village and use it to promote the film on an international level. It sounded like a hoax. But it wasn´t! Until the end of September, tomatours is taking groups up into the mountains to visit this wonderful Andalucian village which has been painted ENTIRELY BLUE and is brimming with Smurf fun and action. A totally whacky day out for all the family.

Go now!! The village will be painted back to its original white colour in the near future, so it´s now or never. Our trip includes lunch. A themed Smurf menu!

Tarifa and Bolonia

On one of the most exciting stretches of Andalucian coastline we have Tarifa, windsurfing capital or Europe and just further on the beach of Bolonia. Could Bolonia be the most beautiful beach in Andalucia? We think it´s right up there with the best.

This incredible day trip takes in Bolonia beach and the roman ruins of Baelo Claudia. We will visit the museum which explains vividly this particular roman settlement and the visit leads into the ruins themselves. We will then take a little hike up into one of the most dynamic sand dunes in Spain. A perfect opportunity for some wonderful photos.

Lunch will be in a typical beach restaurant and we will try all sorts of local delicacies in the form of "raciones" or large tapas.

On our way home we will have a coffee at one of the trendy bars along Tarifa Beach so you can soak up the cool atmosphere that oozes out of this hot spot of surf and fashion.

The Soul of Cordoba

Córdoba, once the political and spiritual centre of Al Andaluz, the Islamic caliphate that brimmed with high culture, learning and above all tolerance of other cultures, stood as a jewel for the envy of all Europe. This excursion is a very exciting initiative to unveil this city´s past and extraordinary beauty by visiting it after dark.

We depart for Cordoba in the afternoon (5 pm). After a nice stroll through the old quarter, we will enjoy a traditional tapas dinner.

The Night Visit to the Cathedral of Cordoba, a former mosque, is the creation of a new and exciting way to see the Temple through the use of advanced technology lighting, sound and projections, to move the visitor a deep knowledge of the monument historical perspective, art and its religious significance.

The tour starts in the 'Patio de los Naranjos' with an audiovisual that runs throughout the history of the monument and the city, then enter the temple and take a tour of its major milestones carried by the sound and lighting, it occurs gradually as it develops the visit.
